Plan Ahead

What to Expect

If you would like to guarantee a private experience, all tickets must be purchased for your selected time slot.  Otherwise, you may be paired with other guests.

Health & Safety

The health and safety of our guests and employees is our highest priority.  We thoroughly clean and sanitize all gear and equipment, including headsets, foot and hand trackers, and backpacks before each use.  All guests and employees are required to wear a face mask while in the store and during the VR experience.

What to Bring

Please bring your confirmation email with you when you visit.  The ticket purchaser or lead guest must be present at the time of check in and will be required to present a valid form of identification.

Your full journey should take approximately 30 minutes from beginning to end, including check in through gear-up and gear-down.  Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your start time to check in.

A VR show guide will help you gear up for your experience. You’ll put on a light backpack, hand trackers, foot trackers and a VR headset.* Our headsets can accommodate most glasses, but if you wear glasses with larger frames, your show guide can assist you.

*To experience free-flying in “Wizards Take Flight,” you’ll only need to put on a VR headset and hand trackers.

If you’ve brought personal belongings or have purchased souvenirs from the store, a safe storage area is available to stow these items during your experience. Please be advised that Harry Potter New York is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Rules of Adventure

Age & Height

You must be 48 inches tall and 10+ years old to experience Harry Potter VR. Guests between 10 and 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket.

Wheelchair options are available.  Guests who require a wheelchair must be able to self-transfer to one of our specially equipped wheelchairs.  Please be advised that we are only able to accommodate one guest requiring a wheelchair per scheduled time slot.

You should wear comfortable shoes. High heels and flip-flops don’t mix well with virtual worlds.

Dress for adventure. Long skirts or flared pants may get tangled up and/or interfere with sensors.  For guests experiencing “Wizards Take Flight,” short skirts are not recommended.

Photos and videos are not allowed inside the experience itself, but we encourage you to snap all the content you want at Harry Potter New York, in the VR waiting areas and gear-up/gear-down rooms. Remember to share on social with #harrypottervr, #harrypotterny and tag @harrypotterny!
